RANGERS STAR SCORES FOR NIGERIA IN FRIENDLY

Nigeria faced Brazil in a friendly in Singapore last Sunday which ended in a thrilling 1-1 draw. The game which is part of Brazil’s global tour saw both teams put up their best squads in the game.

Superstar forward Neymar lasted just 10 minutes before pulling out with a suspected hamstring injury. He was replaced by PhillipeCoutinho as Tite started Gabriel Jesus and Roberto Firmino up front.

Brazil started the brightest threatening the Nigerian
defence with Gabriel Jesus going close with a looping header that was saved by stopper Francis Uzoho. Firmino got his chance after a nice work by Coutinho and Jesus before shooting straight at Uzoho.

Nigeria also boasted an in-form forward in Victor Osimhen who was the leading scorer in the French League
. He soon had his moment after and excellent control forcing Ederson into a good save at his far post.
Nigeria eventually took the lead after a nice build-up play which started with Osimhen crossing deep to Moses Simon. Simon spotted Joe Aribo who went on a mazy run dribbling past Marquinhos to slot in the first goal.
The Rangers midfielder has enjoyed a nice stint with Nigeria with this being his second goal in his second appearance for his country. Leicester ace Wilfred Ndidi would try a long-range effort from the edge of the box which was saved by Ederson.

The second half saw the Brazilians come out with different intentions and they grabbed the equalizer after Casemeiro tapped into an empty net following a rebound from Gabriel Jesus header that hit the post.
Casemeiro would hit the post next before Coutinho missed a golden opportunity scuffing his shot after being put on goal. Nigerian prodigy Samuel Chukwueze had a late opportunity saved by Ederson as the game ended in a thrilling draw.
